Religious Formation Director
Jan joined the staff in July 2008 as Director of Religious Education. Her role is to oversee the Parish religious formation programs, including recruiting and developing a staff of dedicated and qualified instructors. Specifically, her duties include:
- Coordinating the calendar to coincide with Parish activities.
- Recruit, train and oversee volunteer instructors (catechists).
- Assist in planning and implementation of weekly Christian education experiences.
- Oversee planning and implementation of a summer bible school.
- Monitor the Religious Formation budget.
- Purchase needed supplies and materials.
- Insure security of classrooms before, during and after classes are held.
- Conduct parent meetings for first Eucharistic preparation.
- Participate with Education Commission in planning program policy.
- Manage all facets of catechist involvement, including recruitment of volunteers.
- Provide training and certification of completion for catechists.
- Assist catechists with disciplinary actions when appropriate.
- Interact with religious formation students when appropriate.
- Develop and annually revise the Parent Handbooks and the Catechist Handbook.
